How do I know if I can afford to relocate to colombia?

If you are collecting Social Security then you are making plenty to live off in Colombia. Read our blog that discusses expenses living here.

My Pension is not any where close to where I thought it would be. Combined with my total retirement income ill barely get my monthly expenses covered. If I Relocate to colombia is it really that much cheaper? My wife and I still want to travel.

Absolutely, besides the simpler way of living you have a world class international airport in Medellin and if cruising is your thing Cartegena has a major cruise port to leave from.

I am still very independent and only need a companion part-time to pick up groceries and perform errands for me. Can I do this?

Absolutely not every companion wants to work a full 40 hour week. We certainly can match you up with a companion that will work within your schedule.

I don't speak spanish. How will I communicate with people?

If you don't speak Spanish then you are in the same boat as many American expats living in Colombia. iPhone and Android have free translator apps and many people in Colombia speak English.

How do I know that retirement advisors is the right consulting agency for me?

How can I just leave my family here in the U.S.?

You aren't leaving them. You are relocating to an area that will afford you more financial flexibility to travel more with your family. Many families live to use Skype or Facetime video to stay in touch with family.

I have never been to colombia. How do I know I will like it?

Every year (December 2019) we host a weekend tour in Colombia. This year our tour will be in the beautiful city of Medellin. This weekend tour is $500. Our tours are always free for clients.

Will I need to change my US bank?

No. Your U.S. bank credit cards and debit cards will work perfectly fine. In fact, we recommend using a card with no international transaction fees for a better exchange rate.  There are some benefits to having a local bank.
